UNKNOWN PLEASURES PLAGIARISM
I know! It's easy to copy one of the best graphic design for a music album...
I have done it in my "moleskine" in 2005 I think... I didn't want to use it because it's too easy... You can see it just like an "hommage" to Joy Division and Peter Saville's work, one of the most influential artistic director and designer for me.

"I BUILD A FIRE TO STAY COOL, I BURN MYSELF, I AM THE FUEL"

C'était au début destiné à illustrer l'album d'un artiste sur un t-shirt (dans le cadre d'un concours).
C'est un musicien japonais s'appelant Cornelius dont l'album se nomme "senseous" (voir la pochette tout en bas).
En partant de la pochette originale, j'ai repris le code couleur qui est assez clair (Noir, jaune, rouge, bleu).
Aussi, le titre de l'album étant 'senseous' : les 'sens', je me suis concentré sur ce qui pouvait se passer dans un cerveau.
Le sujet étant un album de musique, j'ai pensé aux programmes qui mettent en forme la musique sur windows media player par exemple (les trucs psychés qui changent de formes et de couleurs suivant le son). J'ai récupéré des captures d'écrans trouvées sur internet et puis je leur ai attribué les couleurs de la pochette.
En les mélangeant, je leur ai donné une forme commune qui se rapproche d'un cerveau.
Celà peut faire penser à un scanner de l'activité cérébrale de quelqu'un...Je pense...
Finalement, j'ai oublié de le rendre à la bonne date. Je l'avais mis de coté et j'ai fini par "zapper".
On m'a proposé récemment de sortir un poster ,et vu que j'en était plutot content, je l'ai réutilisé en y rajoutant une phrase en bas d'un autre groupe cette fois-ci (Fugazi): "I BUILD A FIRE TO STAY COOL, I BURN MYSELF, I AM THE FUEL". On peut débattre sur son sens, j'aime bien...
On ne voit pas grand chose car je ne sais pas encore "tricher" sur la taille des images. Je peux l'envoyer en plus grand format à une adresse email si vous le désirez.

Firstly, it was destined to be a t-shirt for the japanese music artist: Cornelius.
It was a t-shirt contest to illustrate the last album. I kept the original "colors code" from the cover (black, blue, yellow and red). The name of the album is : "senseous" (the cover is down below).
I have used screenshots from windows media player who translate music to "psychedelic" moving pictures. I gave to each one a color from the album cover.
The global shape seems to be a brain. The mix of the colors looks like the cerebral activity on a scanner picture ("senseous"=brain!).
Finally, I forgot to send it... I decided to reuse it for a poster!
I decided to "steal" a sentence from another band, Fugazi and to add it . "I BUILD A FIRE TO STAY COOL, I BURN MYSELF, I AM THE FUEL". We can talk about the sense of it but I like the association with the visual.
Sorry for my english... I hope that everything is understandable!
